When the focus is on the empty Search Field (blinking orange bar with no text), the [esc] key no longer allows you to escape the field. This bothers me because I can’t use [option + command + B] to quickly hide the Browser.
Has anyone else noticed this little change in Ableton 12?

You can use the TAB key to move into another section of the user interface

UAD Apollo Twin
Ableton Push 2

Re: I can't escape the Search Field
Only when you have 'Use Tab key to move focus' enabled. Otherwise, it will toggle the Session/Arrangement view.
The latter also exits the search field, so pressing Tab twice could be a workaround. It's still faster than typing one character in the search field and press Esc.
So it's either Tab or Tab-Tab.
Or you use the new shortcut CMD+ALT+5 instead of the older CMD+ALT+B. The new shortcut can hide the browser when the search field is focused but empty.
When you show the browser using either shortcut, the search field still has the focus.

Thanks for your help. I guess I’ll have to get used to the new shortcut…
