Ableton Collections not working

I'm on beta 12.1.10b.1. Fore a while I've had this issue where right clicking an instrument or effect I want to add to a Collection neither color-codes the item, nor adds it to the collection folder. Any tips for fixing the issue? It's not an issue in the non-beta version.

Did you run multiple instances of Live simultaneously, for example, the release and beta version?
Only the browser of the first opened instance of Live is fully functional. Subsequent opened instances have limited functionality.
If you close the first opened instance of Live, the other instances still have limited functionality until you restart Live.

No, just running a single instance. I've noticed that now things are being added to teh collections but very slowly. After several minutes an item will appear in the collection.
