Automation Dots

I'm opening a set I didn't build, and I see a red dot above the Tempo and Time Signature in the upper left hand corner. I'm assuming that indicates some sort of recorded automation in the set. But, I can find any automation in any clips. The red dots turn black upon playing scenes in Session View, and never turn red again. What am I missing? How do I find where the automation is or was?

Right-click on the Tempo and select Show Automation.It will bring you to the automation lanes in the Master/Main track.
Time signatures are added to the scrub area on top of the arranger, where you also set locators.
