Buy an Akai Force = problem solved - does it all........
I have a Force, and do not use my PC anymore with LIve 10 suite and Reason 12 on it!
It’s getting updates soon, apparently. Users had thought Akai had somewhat abandoned it.
I haven't read anything about that, what's your source? The MPC 3 is chugging along though.
Oh apologies I’m thinking of a news article I read about Maschine+.
Sorry!

No worries, no one knows if the Force is depreciated or not, in any case it will be a while before it gets any updates considering the pace of the MPC3 releases etc.

And yes, got an email from Akai Pro saying they are going to update soon on the Force….. Never expected that!

Akai are really doing a great job of proactively listening to their customers lately. The fact they're returning time signatures to the MPC OS in the next update is in their own words due to end users pleas. They cared enough to point out months in advance that the Force is getting an upgrade. It's good to see a company proactively supporting their products and breaking down the barrier a bit of silence that IMO so many companies do in some vain attempt at being the first to release a cherry flavored delay plugin that will shock the industry with it's innovation.

Ableton blink twice if you are listening -- if want to love the push3 so badly.

I think one needs to consider that the clip is the building block for working with live. Most tools need to feed into clip construction, or you don't have a session view with scenes and sections.
That said, there are plenty of sequencers compatible with Push, many with takeover and a dedicated layout. But the patterns won't engage capture or copy to a clip. For the fact that the layouts on push leave you with something to show for it, ie a clip, they all support the existing workflow.
I think more transform and generative tools would be a better fit. And believe me when I say that I'm most suited for device view and love playing with sequencers, and dedicate my playing style to suit this. Still, the burden of your argument, I think, is in getting this into clip form.

Again, it's a bit obtuse for now, but Follow Actions have come to Push 3 stand alone. This includes Scene firing, so you can arrange a song at this point without the computer, plus they included time signatures for Clips, I haven't explored it enough to see if that includes Scenes as well, (hopefully tempo too), but it looks like they're working on implementing the most sane direction for stand alone to go in.
I'll have some time this evening to dive into it, but I'm glad I didn't sell Push, this is great news.

Follow Actions don't work in the latest version of Live 12.2. At least not in my set using Push3 in Controller mode.
Just tested Follow actions using mouse and keyboard and it works fine. I think it's a bug with Push3, and it's probably not consistent.
