How Do I Exclude a Place or Folder from Search (CTRL+F)?

Post by ubyivt868 » Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:12 pm

I collect all and save every single project. I understand this creates a duplicate, as I told it too, but I have my “Ableton Projects” folder mapped to my places within Ableton. This means that every time I search for a kick Ableton also searches my projects so I end having “ZZ KICK 01”, “ZZ KICK 01-01” etc…

The reason I have my Ableton Projects mapped to my places is so that I can easily go into the folder and pull ideas out of projects that I think would work in the current project. I really like this workflow.

Is there any way I can exclude a place or folder from search (CTRL+F)?

Yeah this is driving me crazy right now.

Everytime I try to find a max for live device or sample that I moved after tidying my actual User Library), the "Manage Files" panel searches every folder in "Places" and brings up dozens of candidates because pulled from all the random old projects.

No, I just want to search my user library folder, and that's not it, that's a ton of rando crap on different hard drives. Please just search my user library? Would be great.
