I am new to Ableton and running it in version 12.1.
When I load e.g. "E-Piano Floating.adg" (what is as far as I know an instrument rack) I cannot find any of the instrument rack toggles as for example chains, macros show/hide and so one?
Can you help me? Thank you in advance.

It appears that the rack is readonly. What is Live edition, is it authorized? Can you save the project in this state? Do you see the same with plain Instrument Rack?

Thanks for your help.
I've installed version 12.1.10 and it is authorized, yes.
I can save the project in this state. If I load an empty Instrument Rack, it has the toggles as always (chain and so on)...
Any further ideas?

Anyone have any ideas?
I've already contacted official support, but they don't answer usability questions.

Are you using Lite, Intro, or Standard?
Racks are read-only if they contain devices not included with your edition of Live.
The rack contains Electric, Chorus-Ensemble, Echo, Auto Filter, Hybrid Reverb, and Limiter.
You can check here what devices are included with your edition of Live

Hey. I am using the "Live 12 Standard", I've bought the educational version.
Is the "E-Piano Floating.adg" an instrument or an instrument rack or something else?
Anyway, it should be writeable in version Standard regarding your provided link, or?

It's an instrument rack containing the devices I listed.
As you can see on the page I linked, Echo and Hybrid Reverb are not included in Standard. That's why the rack is cannot be opened.

The read-only sounds in the factory library are for users who do not have Suite or did not purchase individually the required plugins.
Ableton Lite and Intro have only Simpler, Drift and Impulse for instruments while Standard adds four more. All three versions lack Sampler, Operator and Wavetable and many effects found only in Suite.
To flesh out the sound library for users using the lower tier versions, read-only racks allow Ableton to add sounds that would normally not be usable.
