BCF2000 with Live help

Post by Morrello » Mon Feb 19, 2018 12:48 pm

Hi,

I just borrowed a BCF2000 that i want to use to control the volume for 5-6 clips independently.

Currently I can map one of the knobs on the top row of the BCF to the clip volume and it works, however it also maps to all clips in the session. Also when trying to map the next knob to the next clip, it resets everything, and now knob number 2 controls the volume to all clips.

Its running on mac os, with mackie control mode and Live suite 9.7.5 if that helps.

Thanks!

not shure but I think that you should not use the mackie control and do it manually.
I use a BCR 2000 and have hundreds of parameters mapped out manually without problems.

The individual clip volumes are not available to MIDI map, you've mapped to "Clip Volume" which is whatever is currently in focus.

Following up to this super late, but since its BCF2000 related,... 😏

Hey everyone, if you want to use Ableton with the BCF2000, check out my MIDI remote script! (its free)

I have a video explaining why creating it was necessary, and I think a lot of folks who still have one might finally get some use out of theirs, if they use this mapping mode.

I've included controls for the usual things, like volume and mixer controls, transport controls, scrubbing and skipping, looping, and more. But one huge thing I added is EQ8 functionality.πŸŽ›πŸŽ›πŸŽ›πŸŽ›πŸŽ›πŸŽ›πŸŽ›πŸŽ›!

Oh, and a session box with β¬… and ➑ buttons, so you can move one track at a time (instead of jumping 8 tracks like MackieControl Mode does😎)

There are different pages for the different uses. On some pages, the faders control track volume, while on others, they control EQ8 gains and resonance. Likewise, the encoders control panning on some pages, and EQ8 frequencies on others.

The buttons in the top left rows are solo and arm for the first page, and the transport controls for all the other pages

This thing has really helped me with writing volume automations, but my favoritee part is the EQ8 mapping. Adjusting the EQ8 parameters with faders and knobs has enabled such a better process for me. Just having the ability to sweep, apply gain, and kill frequencies, without needing to click and click and click.... the mouse, its truly enjoyable using this instead.

Anyway, hope it helps anyone out there using a BCF2000 still.

There are links on my gumroad page to take you to other places like the Youtube explanation and some 3D models, if you want to replace the faders and knobs as well.
