Best way to divide up a large project with lots of songs into individual projects?

I created a large project in Ableton Live 11 Standard. I had been adding songs one at a time over a year period, and eventually got up to 100+ songs all in arrangement view. Ableton Live started crashing more and more and more.. I then researched this, and realized that I should not be creating Ableton Live projects with so many songs in them.

Now I'm looking for the best way to preserve all the work I've done in Ableton Live arrangement view, and divide up the 100 songs in one project, into 100 projects each with one song in them.

I have lots of tempo and automation changes etc throughout all the songs in the large project. Many of the songs are backing tracks that I purchased and modified extensively in Ableton Live arrangement view and spent countless hours doing all this work.

Hoping there's an easy way to split up my 100 song project into 100 projects each with only one song in each project???

Any thoughts,suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There are many ways to do this but a brute force method while it takes up disk space it seems simpler to do, with less risk of accidentally deleting files.

1. Make 100+ copies of the folder. You now have a place for each song to rest on your disk.

2. Go to each folder and delete every thing that is not part of the song. Save the project named after the song.

3. Create a new folder

4. Open the newly saved project.

5. Copy the newly saved project into the New folder.

6. Open the newly saved project in the new folder. Check that it still works.

7. Do a collect all and save.


8. Repeat 100+ times.

Eventually you will be able to delete the original 100+ copies and recover some disk space.
