I want to map a controller to be able to send just specific instruments from a drum rack to an effects return with a delay applied to it. (So, for example,I can send a single snare hit to the delay, or just the hi hat - but under manual control for live dub mixing).
Each instrument in the drum rack has pots to send the output to a return channel, but nothing happens when I change them.
Why does nothing happen and is this the correct way to do this, or am I missing something?
Thanks
APWS
Why can’t I use and effect send for an instrument in a drum rack?

Hey there,
Check the buttons on the bottom left corner of the Drum Rack to reveal the Returns of the rack.
There is info here which may be useful:

Re: Why can’t I use and effect send for an instrument in a drum rack?
I was hoping for something less fiddly.
I will need to set up two sets of effects that do that same thing - one for the drum kit and another set of global return channels for anything else.
I'm also confused as to why there would be a send in the mixer like on every other channel, but that does nothing.
Is this just a poor design decision/bug?

No need to duplicate anything. The Sends you create in the instrument rack can be routed to your existing Return tracks as the manual describes.

Huh. I must have misunderstood something. I'll go back and look again.
Thanks for your help. Really do appreciate it:)
