Best way to copy a pad sound from one Drum Rack to another

Post by riazb » Mon Apr 28, 2025 6:23 pm

Hello everyone

Problem:
I am trying to consolidate two Drum Racks so I use one track only (and free up the second)

Kit / Pad:
Cardboard Kit / Kick (bottom left)

Steps:
  • I checked the loaded sample on the pad and all settings incl. FX on that pad
  • I tried to load the same sample to a free pad on the other drum rack and apply the same settings
I mostly got it to work, but I noticed that the Kick on the original Cardboard Kit drum rack is set to a fixed velocity - the other pads/sounds are not. How do I do this? I can't find anything in the manual to set one pad to a fixed velocity. I can either switch on Full Velocity ON or OFF for all pads.

Also, the kick I added to the second drum rack does not sound as loud despite same settings (incl. on the step itself).

Is there like an easy way to copy a pad/sound settings and paste it to another kit, avoiding all the above hoops?

Going to answer my own post

I ended up using this:

And the weird pad volume issue was just me not paying attention to one track having a higher volume set than the other track :)
