Runnning Live from a new "clean" user account in the same MacBook for playing concerts - good or bad idea?

Hi friends,

I'm a touring musician, and I use my MacBook for both music production and general work (browsing, video editing, Google Drive, etc).

I had the idea to set up a separate Mac user just for live performance—minimal background apps, no Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, no energy saving, no screensaver, etc.

I created a new user and opened the same Live installation from my main (admin) account. I had to manually give the new user read/write access to several folders:
* My project folder
* Temp, Cache, User Library
* Factory Packs
* VSTs and Max for Live folders
* Max for Live app itself

It ran fine in tests, but during a live show last weekend, the project crashed. Only the performance user was active (admin user logged out), so now I'm unsure if this setup is stable. Could there be hidden permissions or processes Live needs that make this more fragile?

Does anyone here use a similar setup? I’d love concrete tips to make sure it’s safe for live use.

Alternatively, if running Live from a second user isn't recommended, is there a good way to quickly switch my main user into a “performance mode” (no background apps, no pop-ups, no internet, etc)?

Mac and iOS devices feature something called "Single App" mode which basically turns your machine into a kiosk.
