I am sure I used to be able to do this on PUSH2 (don't have it with me so can't confirm), but I want to be able to have the Pads in Note/Drum view (mainly Drum view), so that I can be, setting up drum clips, and using repeat with the 4x4 pads etc AND have the Rotaries on the top, controlling the Macros 1-8, of a different Track.
Is this possible, it seems like a crazy limitation.
My use case is, jamming some drum parts live and recording clips, changing loop parts etc with a Drum rack, WHILST ALSO tweaking the mapped parameters from a VST that is playing on another track.
(As I said, I think I could do this before on Push2, and that might have been because I could FORCE some changes using the Push Control Script and Clyphx Pro...sadly no longer possible.....HUGE loss for me).

You just need a second controller. I’ve started using a Melbourne Roto-Control which makes all that possible. There are lots of cheaper alternatives.
Can also do in device mappings. I haven’t found where zones can be edited and reversed on psa. Have to do on live. And then send the set back.

Interesting, that's exactly where I've been looking too! The Roto Control.
How are you going with mappings where you might have Encoders 1-4 mapped to one device and encoders 5-8 to another different device on another track?

Re: PUSH3: Drum/Note View on one track while Controlling another
If you decide on the roto-control you will not be disappointed …I guarantee it.
In midi mode map anywhere and anything in Ableton and regardless of where your focus is on push you can control anything anywhere. Even external synths connected to push.
You will need to make your mappings on your computer and transfer your sets back to push SA, so carefully plan your templates for long term use. One offs are too much of a pain (for me anyway).
This is probably sounding like a sales pitch but I was blown away. If you need two or more position switches the knobs will actually behave and feel like switches, endless encoders or whatever. Far and away the best controller I’ve ever used for functionality and compactness.
Enjoy
