Storage dilemma:

I just bought a 500 GB SSK external SSD (NOT the overheating model), which can be formatted either xFAT or NTFS . I want to download and install Komplete 15 select and UVI Synth Anthology 4 right onto the SSK, and possibly move my other sound libraries onto it.
Some producers insist xFAT is bad for this purpose, and it should always be formatted NTFS. But if I've had NO apparent problem with anything on my main xFAT computer, would it really be an issue leaving the external drive xFAT? Besides, wouldn't both drives have to have the same format for the sound libraries to be usable?
