Waveform is tiny in Clip View

The new waveform zoom slider in Ableton is great and makes workflow so much better, however from what I can see it does not translate into clip view. This is something that both Pro Tools and Logic can do and would change the game of audio editing in Ableton. It's particularly hard to use warp markers when you can't see the transient. Also, a tab-to-transient function would be elite. If anyone knows how to do this or something similar let me know!

There is no zoom functionality in clip view. You can (temporarily) increase the gain in the clip view.

ALT⌥ +arrow keys is the best you can get for jumping to transients.

Forgive me if my understanding of the question, or my suggested workaround for it, are flawed, but...

When I bring an audio clip onto an audio track, its appearance in the clip view can be zoomed in or out quite a lot just with the "magnifying glass." One can use the "suggested" warp locations or choose one's own (as has been the case) at very convenient view zooms.

I haven't learned about the waveform zoom slider yet (I'm waiting for the 12.2 manual update to get on board with a few new changes) and I'm so unfamiliar with this improvement that I confess I don't even know where to find it!

But what I'm not so sure about -- and what I'm not even sure you're asking -- is, what happens when one trims & warps an audio clip to satisfaction, and then brings that audio into something like Simpler.

Does Simpler want to reset warp markers or time edits? Or does it accept the changes already in place prior to import (even if the imported warp markers differ with Simpler's "conception" of where it would want to warp).

Because it's very true that, in an environment such as Simpler, it is indeed difficult to zoom waves in any profound manner.

So I'm offering that if the fine-details editing can be done on an audio track, then perhaps as a secondary step one can then bring those edits into an instrument.

However if it's the case that Simpler "resets" imported audio rather than adopting external edits and warp markers, then, umm, "wouldn't it be nice" (to quote a phrase) if there was a right-click option for audio clips along the lines of "Send To Simpler" which would export an audio clip, with its trims & warps, right to Simpler "as-is."

Again, apologies if I have not understood the question!

Waveform zoom is not new to 12.2.
You can find the controls to the left of the H and W buttons in arrangement.

The feature zooms in on the waveform as if you were changing the gain. Different behavior than the magnifying glass.
