Weird midi mapping with Chord midi device

Hi,

I've noticed something really strange with the Chord midi device. I use it withn the context of a fairly complex set in live mode, with various midi controllers. The pads of an old Akai MPK mini output CC signals (#20 to 28), on channel 1.

Without any mapping appearing on the midi map menu, pressing the pads modifies the value of the Shift 1/2/3/4/5/6 knobs of the chord device currently selected in the chain of the instrument rack (following the velocity of the pad). It took quite a lot of head scratching to identify this in the first place.

One way around this issue is to effectively map the pads to the shift knobs and to narrow the range down to the desired value. Once I do this, every other instance of the Chord device seems to behave normally, which seems quite weird.
The issue also appears when I create a chord device within an empty set

Is this a bug or a feature that I'm not quite understanding ? Do other people have encountered this ?
I haven't found any info on the internet.

This is the result of the MPK being selected as a ‘control surface’. The confusion is due to that pad sharing the same CC as a control surface setting which was probably intended for the knobs. If the MPK is not selected as an option in control surfaces, the problem will probably disappear.

After that you’d probably have to decide on a proper workaround depending on whether or not you actually use control surface features.
