Hi there!
Occasionally, I'll open an old project and run into missing media files because I forgot to Collect All and Save.
Oftentimes, these missing media files were from Ableton packs that I previously had installed (sometimes only on other machines). In these cases, I'll usually try Googling the sample name surrounded by parentheses. Sometimes that helps me find the pack; sometimes not. Sometimes finding the pack that contained the sample is a frustrating game of trial and error.
I think it'd be nice if Ableton published an index of which sample names reside in which packs. Something as simple as one large text file that lists each pack along with its respective list of names of all the samples it contains. For example, under "Vinyl Classics" would be "082LD Drum Loop, 100 Drum Loop 17," and so on.
Thoughts?
Pack index
Re: Pack index
When you hover over a missing files in the missing files pane, it shows the original location (full path) of the file in its status bar. This should include the name of the pack or other useful information.
A list could be helpful, but it does not cover all cases as Ableton regularly renames packs and presets.

Oh, no way! I can't believe I didn't see that before. Thanks a ton!
