Clip postion on timeline?

Post by Laura R » Sat Jul 12, 2025 11:04 pm

Hi Guys, for some reason I'm having trouble positioning a clip correctly in Live 12. I've manually placed the clip on the time line grid at 101, and it ends at 116. However when I try to type the right starting position on the clip menu, it won't let me do it. It keeps reseting the start point in the clip menu to 11 or -1 or something wonky when I try to type 101. The end point in the clip menu is 116 which looks right. Playback timing/ alignment also sounds wrong for this clip only. Everything else in the session sounds ok. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? The clip position in the clip menu is 1.1.1 and the length is 15.0.0, so I think that part is right. I'm sure I'm missing a parameter setting somewhere or something similar. Live 12.2 software is up to date, as is Mac OS Sequoia 15.5.

Watch for the quantization setting for this clip, it may be different from your GQ.

Thanks for responding. I think I'd inadvertently turned on swing 16s in the clip menu.
