Is this "expected" Performance in Ableton Live 12.2.1?

Post by The JackProject » Fri Jul 25, 2025 7:34 pm

I've made a CPU Upgrade from an AMD Ryzen 5900x to an AMD Ryzen 9950X3D with 64 GB Ram DDR5. My Interface is an RME Fireface UFX III. Made a performance Test with the Ableton Demo project at 96 kHz and a Buffer-Size of 256 Samples and the Performance meter get up to round about 50%. This seems kind of underwhelming, or is it the expected performance for this CPU? Can Anybody with a similar Config please check?

Do you mean you're seeing worth performance compared to eg L12.2.0?

It does seem a bit underwhelming considering it's top of the line AMD consumer rig. Live 12.2.1 on Intel 13900K and Motu M4 at 96kHz and 256 samples the average meter juggles between 30-36% and current meter occasionally goes above 50-60% on the last chorus part.
