As per the title... what is ableton live doing? I assume there is some rational answer, but I'm at a complete loss...

First and third playthrough are fine
2nd and 4th playthrough are missing different notes
5th playthrough starts out fine.. though I stopped the recording at this point.
Dropouts on every other play of loop
Re: Dropouts on every other play of loop
What if you try with a Live Drum Rack instead of 3rd party plugins? Is it still happening?

Re: Dropouts on every other play of loop
Thx, [jur].. just saw your note. In fact, I had this exact same idea finally this morning and came here to post.
I had the same issue w/ Superior Drummer and EZ Drummer, but when I just used a piano sound ("E-Piano Short Sharp.adv") no issue.
Similarly, tried a Kontakt 8 kit.. AbbeyRoad 50s Drummer, and no issue.
So... I guess this is a question for Toontrack?

Re: Dropouts on every other play of loop
Contacted Toontrack support, and they replied w/ a solution in less than 20 mins (which I confirmed works)
Sorry about that! In Superior Drummer 3.4.0 there is an issue with stuttering playback in some hosts when using a sample rate of 44.1kHz, and we have noticed that it occurs mostly when looping.
The next update which includes a fix to this bug among other things has been in testing over the summer and it will hopefully be released soon.
The only workaround that we know of is to use some other sample rate in your Ableton projects.
