Mapping Issues Using Akai APC40 Mk2 with Xone K2

Post by luckykat » Sun Aug 17, 2025 11:37 pm

Has anyone managed to get a stable setup with an Akai APC40 Mk2 & Xone K2 ? I have tried for so long but always had mapping issues where I press a button on the Xone K2 & it flashes on the APC40. I have looked at the mapping & none of the buttons flashing on the APC40 are mapped so why is it when I press a button on the Xone K2 it flashes on the APC40. The APC40 is on Channel 1 & the Xone K2 is on Channel 14 so how are they clashing? Before you send links to tutorials on YouTube, there isn't a single one I've found in 3 years that accurately explains how to do this. But I see producers like Joris Voorn who have managed to make a hybrid setup work on a global scale so there is hope.

It might come down to having to limit midi routings in preferences. This depends on a number of factors though.

If you use the APC in its default manner, and do No mapping with it, then you might be able to turn off ALL midi in and out options. The only exception being the top portion for‘Control Surface’

That’d be a good start. Not sure if you have any outside software routing additional midi
