Can't syncronize Ableton and Traktor with Link when routing Traktor inside Ableton

Post by spinlud » Mon Aug 18, 2025 11:40 pm

I have the following setup: Traktor in external routing mode, from which I send the audio of the various decks to separate tracks inside Ableton (this is because I want to apply some specific Ableton effects to Traktor’s audio).

My problem is that I can’t synchronize Ableton and Traktor when routing audio this way. Using Link, I have no problem syncing them if both send their audio independently to the physical outputs of the sound card, but if I try to send Traktor’s audio into Ableton, the sync is lost.

I tried applying a negative delay in milliseconds to the tracks in Ableton to account for the audio driver’s latency, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference to the delay I hear. It seems as if any negative delay (positive wouldn’t make sense since Traktor’s audio is already late) I apply to Ableton tracks is then communicated via Link back to Traktor, which in turn delays itself even more, leaving me back at square one.

Do you think there is a solution?
