Wishlist: Could VARIATIONS Selection Ever Be Automate-able?

Subj. Header pretty much sums it up:

Once all of the desired parameters in a Variation have been set up, wouldn't it be nice to have the option (either in Session or Arrangement View) of automating "selecting" action?

In Session View, this would allow you to commit a Variation to a clip (among other things, I guess, tho that's the interest which prompted this post). In Arrangement View it could set all of the parameters reflected in a Variation at a single point on the time line.

In my imagination, only the currently-existing number of Variations would be offered for automation in the Envelopes (Session) or Automation Control Chooser (Arrangement) -- like when there are 3 chains in an instrument, and Chain Selection automation only offers a range from 0-2 to choose from.

In record mode, if you trigger a Variation it record automations for the parameters.

Do I understand correctly that what you describe is strictly a function of the Arrangement View?

Or can the parameters be printed to recorded clips in Session View as well?

i suppose i had imagined the visual tally-back of seeing the specific Variation selected visually, but the parameter recall is good enough.
