Hi! I am not a professional player and my music theory is on a basic level. However I do enjoy improvising and composing for my own enjoyment. I own old Yamaha QS300 midi workstation and I wanted to see if there is a possibility to modernize my setup a bit. I love Ableton feature set and the way you can record phrases and then arrange them in a different way. But keyboard has one mode that I really enjoy. Its called fingered mode and I am not sure if its just Yamaha thing or a common one. Using left hand you input your full chord and your patterns adjust to match the chord notes. It makes it easy to play accompaniment and add melody on top of it, all in real time. Does anyone know, if there is an Ableton plug in or third party tool that would allow me to do something like this?
