I have use case like this:
I have a drum machine, that always outputs it current pattern via MIDI. So if I use it normally with Ableton, and switch to another intrument, I hear drum beats as notes. What I'd like to do is to exclude the drum machine from "All Inputs", and have it only to be able to record its MIDI output to its own track.
However as the machine also responds to MIDI input, I'd like to continue to be able to trigger it via Push.
I haven't found any "reasonable" way to do this but turn off its MIDI track from configuration. Thats really, really cumbersome.
Any known workarounds? Max plugins?
I'd like to propose a new feature for this - input MIDI groups. You could create new MIDI group and assign your wanted devices there, and use that as MIDI input source. There should also be automatic group that has devices not assigned to groups. Thoughts?
