well i hope yees ne mindes
I'm playing with one of them bhakti 04

I'm putting my own stuff aside for the afternoon so i guess there's what you'd call a high compliment. but perhaps it is the highest form of procrastination on my part...

Sounds cool with a bass and driving drums -

I have to run and take care of some stuff but when I return I'll dump it up somewhere so you can have a good laugh. If that is your singing it is great - stupendous even - it has a very nice quality to it that I can't quite describe just yet.

I'm not involved, unfortunately.
Found it while searching for "kobra poetry", which Hansje dropped in my mouth.

Ball:

"I was sure that there must be a few young people in Switzerland who like me were interested not only in enjoying their independence but giving proof of it.
Cabaret Votaire, which has as it's sole purpose to draw attention, across the barriers of war and nationalism, to the few independent spirits who live for other ideals"

The maybe most known poem by Ball.
Talking Heads did a tune of it.

I didn't post when the thread first appeared, but it got me thinking. And so I ended up spending august's "cigaret-money" on running gear. The first time was horrible! I felt like coughing up years accumulated tar when I came back. But even the next day I was able to run almost twice the distance without much trouble!

Now I do 5-6 kilometers 3-4 times a week, I haven't smoked since august and I really feel so much better than I ever did before!
And being a student with not much money, this change has made a huge impact on my finances. So much even, that a few weeks ago I was able to buy that pair of Genelecs that I always wanted.
This, in turn, has made an instant improvement to the sound and quality of my music, and now I feel confident enough that my first real live-gig (not just dj) next Saturday will go really well!
(This also goes to illustrate that one should never fear an off-topic thread - it just might end up being on topic after all... )

So: Thanks guys, for the inspiration!!!
Respect.

LETS QUIT

Post by ebenextra » Mon Oct 17, 2005 4:45 pm

I'll qiut with you mate!!!

I used to smoke 2 packs a day for the last 6 or so, before I quit. Smoked for about 5 or so years.

But I started only smoking when i drink(1 or 2 nights a week), which worked for a few months, but the past 2 months i've been buying a ten pack(you get them in asia...) 2 or so nights a week when i don't go drinking, then feeling stupid about it, sometimes throwing 8 away before going to bed!!!

This crazy smoking not smoking, love hate inner battle is becoming redicilous!!!!!

I smoked tonight again, for no reason- its monday!!!!

So, I'm quitting with you!!!

I have Live 5, no financial or material gain for me, but a mental reward...

I'll make a deal with you, If i smoke before you, I'll get you your live 5!!! If you smoke before me... You find my marbles..?

Ciao

wow! great idea smutek! and a healthy decision for you!

i am dancing with the idea of quitting smoking myself, and it has been incredibly difficult. fun toys and the attendant money saved that could buy them is a great idea tho!

that's some motivation!

how are you doing in your endeavor?
