I know that Note is kind of meant to be a transition into Ableton Live, but I think there is a decent amount of potential for getting a few more of the iOS music junkies intrigued by Note.
I have seen Korg in a few different ways offer their apps up as audio unit plugins. They had the Electribe Wave which was a drum sequencer / synth where the wavetable synth worked as an audio unit. They had Gadget self contained for ages and eventually rolled out all the ‘gadgets’ as audio unit plugins. And they have made a few of their hardware translations into Audio Units.
I think it’d be nice with Note to have a similar relationship. Perhaps if a person buys the Note app, they can open a couple fx within other apps. The more ‘flagship’ fx and instruments can be locked as in app purchases. Then people might be more interested in getting Note so they can for instance use Drift or Auto Filter within Logic or AUM.
