hey rob - i know they are shielded and the draw is probably non-existent but i still have this superstition about putting my laptop on top of monitors. aka, big ass magnets. just something to consider.

nice room. =)

thanks. That's a good point. I just left it there for the pic and then removed it. But I'm superstitious like that too. :)

My live rig

okay... so those photo's don't really look that good, but I don't see myself spending time to spruce it up or paint my walls orange ;)

It's my performance rig! So there's a bit more under the hood than meets the eye. There is a Roland MVS-1 Synth, ART Pro VLA limiting Amp, Boss RV3, Roger Linn Adrenalinn, and Monster PRO 2500, and MIDI expanders also in the roadcase. It's quite portable, or even shippable! I also take along a 2000 Tacoma Chief Acoustic, and a '63 Jaguar.

The Monitoring setup includes a subwoofer under the desk, and my nifty ergonomic chair.

My view is pretty decent, and I'm only 4 blocks from a nice beach and the redwoods.

NO issues with Live 5.01 - so... I've been having good times :D [/img]

Cool setup.

I'd love to replace my Yamaha DD-55 toy with a Roland Handsonic!

Savings pennies for a Lemur, tho...

Hi Daniel, I am listening to your mix from the mixes section at your site.

Really quality so far. Very deep, and perfect for my current mood.

Any chance of getting an mp3 version?

Yeah, no problem. I will add the download link, now actually. I'm glad you enjoy. It's about time I got more mixes onto my site. I might do one when I get up today. 1.53am here.

Take care.
Daniel.

I had to step away for a few and didn't get to hear the whole thing, but I did hear about a half hour, 40 minutes. Really enjoyed it Daniel. Very tastefull. Listening again now as matter of fact.

Let me know when the mp3 link is up.

This will all change in the next week (?!)

Post by rick » Tue Oct 18, 2005 1:58 am

Humble setup (compared to some who seem to want to make the rest of us suffer from a variant of penis envy!). Hoping that Apple announce dual-dualcore G5 Power Macs this week... PC is old and rarely used (to run old apps from the 90s).

Genelec 8030s are new, and there was no way I was gonna put them either side of the laptop ;-) They are bliss and like a bit of breathing space.

Great, this is awesome! I just love how we're all squirreled away in our home studios across all corners of the globe making music! Keep 'em coming...

just one thing to the orange-studio owner (was it rob?): you should try to get your monitors not sitting directly on your desk (that causes bad reflections), and at ear level.
at least, turn them upwards a bit.
