Instrument Rack macro mappings make Analog UI hard to click

Post by LiveFromSpace » Thu Jan 22, 2026 11:32 am

Hi everyone!

I’m pretty new to Ableton and music production and I’m currently trying to learn Ableton’s Analog inside an Instrument Rack.

I ran into a UI issue when mapping parameters:
For example, if I map all controls from Analog’s Filter section to Rack macros, the Filter area becomes really hard to use afterwards. When I switch to another section/tab inside Analog and then want to go back to the Filter section (to open the filter envelope view, etc.), only a few tiny pixels of the Filter tab are clickable. Most clicks in that area do nothing, so I have to “pixel hunt” to switch back, which is really inconvenient.

Is this normal / expected behavior when many parameters are mapped?
Is there a better way to map a lot of Analog parameters without breaking the clickability of the UI?

Thanks :)

Fair enough, I reckon that can be problematic. That's because a macro-mapped parameter isn't selectable anymore and if all controls are macro-mapped then you have to click the area under the filter's on/off switch to select the tab (in Filter 1 there's the "To F2" text but that's fine).
You could report to Support, but I don't think this would get much high priority tbh.
