Ableton live support for ARA 2
Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2
+1 for ARA support
Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2
My thinking with the new Ableton live 12.4 announcement and extended Ableton Link networking possibilities, is that it should be theoretically possible to get ARA2 compatibility that way, by sending tracks directly into Logic Pro (so far the only Ableton Link + ARA2 compatible daw).
Can somebody maybe try and verify this? (I don’t own Logic so can’t test myself)
It would be a great start if one could use melodyne more efficiently that way, without having to bounce tracks and drag them into another daw via cloud or usb sticks…

Hate to be a Debbie Downer but currently Logic on Apple Silicon can't use ARA, something about the plugin sandboxing they implemented? and in typical Apple fashion, don't allow the end user to turn off for certain plugins like you can with Reaper. In the Case of Digital Performer it uses the VST3 version of the plugins for Melodyne etc. likely since AU is being sidelined by companies until Logic is fixed.mrweasel wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 5:22 pmMy thinking with the new Ableton live 12.4 announcement and extended Ableton Link networking possibilities, is that it should be theoretically possible to get ARA2 compatibility that way, by sending tracks directly into Logic Pro (so far the only Ableton Link + ARA2 compatible daw).

Ok thanks.
Does that mean protools is the only DAW that could currently do that?
I wish Fender added Ableton Link to Studio One. Same for Reaper which ha a solid Ara2 workflow

Exactly, trying to use Synth V without Ara 2 is the last straw for me with Ableton. I'll move now to another DAW that does Ara 2, and maby coming back after they fix this.

Yes Cubase has ARA2 I had Melodyne & Spectralayers attached when I was trying it. Maybe now that Live has SDK, we are closer to ARA ?

if there's a 12.5, there's only one thing I can think of that's more exciting than extensions...getting ARA or a proprietary pitch editor would make me a very happy boy.

Please add ARA 2 support to Ableton Live
