Hi all,
Bink Looper is a great tool, but am curious has anyone else stumbled on this:
I have set track arming to be "Arm exclusive", so if I change tracks only one track is record-enabled. But for some reason Bink Looper doesn't seem to respect the exclusivity:
If another track has been armed, and I'm using Bink Looper to arm another track, I end up with two tracks now being armed.
Try this out: Set a bink looper on an empty track, and record arm another track. Now go to the Bink Looper track and press "Arm - On" button, and you end up with two tracks armed for recording. Or automate with a dummy clip, same result.
Am I missing something? This would be so great if it would work!
best,
Jussi L.
Bink Looper - Track arming
Re: Bink Looper - Track arming
You're not missing something. Max either ignores or is unaware of the Exclusive settings in Preferences.
In Max, it's possible to disarm all tracks first, then arm the desired one. But users who don't use the exclusive arm may not like this. Maybe the developer could offer an option in the device.
By the way, are you referring to this device?

thanks for the reply! Yes, that's the device I meant, exactly. I'll see if I can reach the developer.

I think that the state of the "exclusive arm" setting in Preferences is gettable from M4L, isn't it ?Rivanni wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 4:31 pmYou're not missing something. Max either ignores or is unaware of the Exclusive settings in Preferences.

EDIT : Yes, I can confirm it. So in theory, the developer is able to make it work in harmony with the preferences settings.

You're right.
Strange that this sits at the Song level rather than the App level, where it should be.

Re: Bink Looper - Track arming
thanks everybody for chiming in. I came up with a temporary solution by using this device:
https://maxforlive.com/library/device/1 ... all-tracks
When placed in the same track I can use a single dummy clip first to disarm all tracks, and then use the Bink Looper to do its thing.
Seems to work well!
thanks,
Jussi L.
