[FREE] VOID MIDI Random

Post by julienb » Mon Mar 23, 2026 4:37 pm

As both an Ableton Certified Trainer and Max Certified Trainer, it is a privilege to share my latest development with the Ableton community: VOID MIDI RANDOM.

A kind of Zero-latency stochastic melodic engine. Powered by a high-performance external designed for surgical generative evolution and precise probabilistic variations within Ableton Live.

More than just a M4L patch, this is a dedicated, stochastic MIDI engine engineered for professional workflows. I wanted to balance the excitement of unpredictable generative textures with the necessity of harmonic control and technical rock-solid stability.

Key Technical Details:
- Custom Max External: At its core lies a dedicated, custom-coded external ensuring surgical accuracy with zero latency—a requirement for serious live performance and intricate generative sequencing.
- Custom UI: The entire user interface has been custom-designed for a modern, intuitive workflow that cuts down on complexity while maximizing control over the stochastic logic.

At its core, VOID MIDI RANDOM introduces a form of controlled fluctuation—a subtle, evolving element that remains remotely connected to the core intention and heart of your composition, ensuring unpredictability never resolves into chaos.

Witness the technical and creative flexibility in action in the accompanying video.
