Latency setting the Tempo via M4L API

Post by chapelier fou » Tue May 12, 2026 1:26 pm

Hi,
I noticed that setting the tempo via M4L seems to have a higher latency than API usual latency.
It's quite noticeable, and I can definitely hear a weird groove if, for instance, I play a simple clip containing one note on each quarter note and changing the tempo from 120 to 60 on beat 3.

I even bought Isotonik's "Sabotage" but it's got the same bug, as it's also using M4L API to set up the tempo.

Is it quantized somehow ? Does anyone have any clue ?

There's a few tempo-related fixes in today's L12.4.5b1, see here.
Nothing directly related to M4L, but maybe that had a positive impact in this area too?
