Global clip editing quantize - it this a thing?

Post by Stone Guest » Tue Jul 07, 2026 12:02 pm

When editing the MIDI notes within a clip there are different quantize settings available via the menu when right clicking at the bottom right hand corner of the window. It seems that each clip can have different quantize settings assigned to it this way.

Sometimes this is a bit of a pain and I want to just have a certain quantize value (i.e. 16ths or whatever) assigned as default to every clip I open to edit.

I've looked and Googled but I can't see if this is an option anywhere.

Would love to know if anyone has a solution :)

You might be actually talking about the grid size, which can be different from the quantization value.

You are correct - I was confusing the grid resolution with the quantize value. I always assumed that the grid determined the quantize value and how notes or event would 'snap' to it but I see now that is not the case, thanks.
