Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing a strange synchronization issue with Push 3 Standalone and I’m wondering if anyone else has seen something similar.
My setup is not a simple test project. Push 3 Standalone is the center of a fairly large live setup with multiple external MIDI instruments (Perkons, Torso S-4, Vermona PERfourMER, etc.), external hardware effects, and most audio routed via ADAT through a Ferrofish Pulse 8 AE. Every hardware instrument is recorded to its own audio track.
The strange part is that timing seems to change while interacting with the Push interface.
If I start playback and leave Push untouched, the external gear can stay reasonably well synchronized. However, after navigating around the interface (switching tracks, opening Device View, browsing device pages, editing parameters, etc.), the timing of the external MIDI instruments appears to shift. When I record the hardware afterwards, the audio transients are no longer aligned the same way they were before interacting with the interface.
This doesn’t feel like a fixed latency issue. It feels as if something is being recalculated while navigating the Push interface, affecting MIDI timing or latency compensation.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior with Push 3 Standalone, especially in larger projects with multiple external MIDI devices and ADAT audio routing?
I’m interested to know whether this is a known limitation, an existing bug, or if there are recommended practices for keeping MIDI timing stable in more complex Standalone setups.

Syncing midi gear has always been notoriously challenging as the number of connected units grows, and you can find many threads about this here and all over the web.
With a large setup like yours, you should first try to isolate where the timing shifts.
Is it shifting for every external instruments, or only some of them. Then, is it shifting in Push (and at which point in the signal), at its midi out, after the midi out, at an instrument's input etc? Or maybe it's not even a midi sync issue but an audio one.

It's now clear that this is a problem with push notifications for connected USB devices with USB MIDI. It's either a CPU bottleneck or a software issue.
