First impressions, feels much more solid than before.

strange why people complains... I never, say NEVER had a problem with my FW410 on my PBook with the last 2 drivers... don't understand why we need a new driver. But this "not to hot-plug" thing is a pain in the ass...

trust me drivers are needed. the firewire line is far from perfect. i still have this annoying problem, where Live 5 wont let me change the sample rate below or over 44.1 khz in the audio panel. People suggest changing the sample rate outside of live, and in the firewire audiophile's panel, but theres no controls there to set the sample rate either, it takes what it needs from the programs.... its really pissing me off and m-audio tech support hasnt written me back. If i dont get a solution or my money back i think i wont be supporting the maudio line anymore, with they're unliscenced drivers and such, its not worth the trouble u know .

Strange... I can select anything from 44.1 to 192 from within Live5.

Mac OSX 10.3.9
M-Audio FireWire Driver 1.5
Live 5.0.2

If you are on the Mac, download the latest version, run the Un-instal that comes with it. Re-boot. Run the installer. Then repair permissions with Disc Utilities or even Cocktail. Shut down, connect you FireWire410 and boot up....

Worked for me.

Are you using an external clock source, such as spdif? That locks you at whatever the external source is clocked at. I'm frozen at 44.1 too, and I discovered this was the reason.
