What VJ program for 2-D graphics?
What VJ program for 2-D graphics?
I want to do graphics for 1 or 2 video beams for my gigs, mainly consisting of flat blocks of colour, scanned graphics/digital photos, maybe some video but no 3D, no shading no texture mapping. I want the animations to sort of look like an abstract version of 80's home video games (Atari 2600!!!)
SO: what is a good VJ program? I don't need loads of complicated light synthesizers and 3D functions I'll never use. Had a look at what Richie Hawtin uses that's NOT what I'm looking for
Simple-intuitive-fast-stable-clear workflow... suggestions anyone?
I have acces to 2 laptops so was thinking about MIDI syncing it to beloved Ableton LIVE, for speed reasons and also making it more crashproof.
Your suggestion much apreciated!

i use pure-date (PD) with the GEM - library:
http://pure-data.sourceforge.net/
works quite good for 2d and 3d graphics...
and you can combine it with an audio-analyzer implemented with PD..
you can do your own one easily..
or ask me for hints
