Tempo change stops audio!

Post by cinningbao » Fri Oct 21, 2005 4:49 pm

What the hell? When I change the tempo of a song in 502 it stops!
Is everyone suffering from this?
thanks

is there another post which covers this problem? why has no-one added to this one?

It's completely unusable on stage, and quite frankly a pain in the arse.

Can anybody hear me?

At the moment, I'm thinking of dropping Live if this is going to be the result of upgrades.

you should tell us a little bit more about your setup.

don't have any problem changing the tempo on the fly here.

I've got an asus P4t-533c with a 2.4 pentium and 1.2 GB of RAMBUS.
Live's worked absolutely fine since version2, but this live5 is the pits.
can't even change the tempo without it stopping!

maybe they included a secret 'stop audio on tempo change' option which everybody's turned off except me!

I dunno, I'm losing faith.

I think I'll write to the abes.

how do you change the tempo?
midi controler, mouse, keyboard arrows? what exactly do you do?

do you have some external gear? midi controler that could cause midi feedback? third party midi application?
do you have VSTIs or other stuff that is synched?

try to narrow your problem, because this isn't a Live problem, i'm 99% sure about that.

I have controllers, uc33, pc180a, but they haven't been on since I used 5, I haven't seen the point.

USB wireless mouse which never caused any probs in the past, and I've tested this on just a one bar sampled loop, dumped into an audiotrack with nothing else, and it stops. doesn't matter what I'm using to control the tempo change, it's the same everytime - CPU shoots upto 4309%, stutter, and stop.

Do you see?
