Recorded Mic Sound can only be heard with Ping Pong effect

Post by freebass » Sat Oct 22, 2005 11:34 pm

Hey. Newbie here with a stupid question. I've been recording sound through my mic (mobile pre usb sound card) onto a Live track. The sound records and input signals are visible but I can't hear the recording on playback. When I apply the ping pong effect to the track I can then hear the recoring.

Any ideas what is causing this? I thought maybe I was recording in an incorrect format or low volume and ping pong happened to be an effect that helped but am not sure.

Appreciate any thoughts and promise the questions won't always be so dumb.

Input signal visible? How visible, how high up the fader does it go on playback? Have you tried turning the clip's volume level up? Do you have an output channel enabld in prefs? Do other files play back OK?

How is your monitoring switched on the channel? Switch it to auto, does that make a difference?
