Hey all...I've been playing around w/ the demo, loving it so far, and thinking about picking up a copy. I have two quick questions that have come up thus far:
1) I'm using a Mackie MCU (and probably one of the few who is burned by the fact that Live only supports 2 XT units, but no biggie since I wouldn't be using Live for tracking or final mixing). I can tell that Live/MCU support is still somewhat under development (e.g., Mackie hasn't even put out the Live template-sticky thing yet, AFAIK), but one thing is really bugging me: I seem to use the start-from-last-stop transport thing a lot (shift+spacebar on keyboard), maybe just because I'm used to traditional DAW/ProTools-ish software....but I can't seem to get the play button on the MCU to do the same thing. I tried the MCU/Live "shift" button + play button, and every other combination I could think of, but no luck. Anyone know how to do this, or any suggestions on just getting Live to act more traditonal/linear in terms of transport when I want it to? It's making things kinda rough on me, since I'm used to tucking away my keyboard and working almost entirely off the MCU.
2) I tried importing a song from elsewhere that uses Fxpansion Guru for the drum track, and got silence...figured out that it was because I was using the Guru sub-busses, and as soon as I just went back to a single master Guru bus, everything came out fine. Does Live not support multiple audio outputs from VST synths?
2b) ...and somewhat related, I loaded up an instance of Powercore Virus, which runs 4 different engines (MIDI channels 1-4 control 4 different Virus patches)...I figured out how to route additional MIDI tracks to the original Virus track, but it had this weird, echo-ey thing going on. Is this just Virus being screwy (which has happened to me at times elsewhere), or is Live just not that great at handling non-Live VST synths that use mulitple engines/outputs in general?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give....
