CPU load

Post by madlab » Mon Jul 14, 2003 7:29 am

Hi to all the beta testers.
Is there any change in the cpu load in OS9 or OSX with Live 2.1 ?
Has the "quit without save" bug been adressed ?

Hi madlab,

please explain what do you mean with the "quit without save" bug.

So far there are no changes concerning the audio cpu usage in Live 2.1b1 independent of the operating system.

regards,
Alex

"Quit without save"

Post by madlab » Tue Jul 15, 2003 8:44 am

Hi Alex,
I've described this bug in a mail I sent you a few days ago : when I work on a live set, if I want to close the current set without saving, I get a message warning "Live has quit unexpectedly" and proposing me to restore the current set. The set I was working on then reappars and I can quit properly. There's another bug : if I try to open a live set by clicking on its icon, I'm warned that the document "was created with a more recent version of Live" (which is impossible because I work wwith 2.03. This bug appeared for the first time in Live 2.01 if my memory is OK !

Hi madlab,

so far I could not reproduce or explain that behaviour. It sounds strangebecause the message text "Live has quit unexpectly" comes from the OS X and idicates that Live is crashed somehow. But you said that you get the restore document message box directly after that.
Do you get this behaviour always or do you had it once?
We fixed a simliar bug in Live 2.1b1 ( http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3955 )

Concerning the opening of Live by clicking on a Live set's icon, please get sure that the Live version that it opened is really Live 2.0.3 (by watching the about dialog).

regards,
Alex

"save without quit"

Post by madlab » Tue Jul 15, 2003 11:57 am

the message appears each time I do this, even in OS9 where I work most of the time. I get the message, including the possibility to restore the current set, then I can close it and quit Live properly.
As far as opening a file by its icon, the original song was created with Live 2.03 anyway. I get an "unknown stream version" message, computer doesn't freeze but I have to restart.

Hi madlab,

could you make a screenshot of the complete screen when you get this "Live has quit unexpectly" message and send it to me?

regards,
Alex
