can´t record

i am using ableton with a sonica theater usb soundcard. asio is selected and the line in of the sonica theater is active. the weird thing is that i have no selection in the channels which input i want to use for recording (the fild is completely missing:). when i activate the recording button in the channel the color changes to white.

anyone knows?

Hi MePOoh,

not sure if I understand you right.
The Sonica is selected as audio interface and the In / Out view (from the View menu) is visible.

Can you now select "Live In" as Input Type in the In / Out view?

If not go into the Audio Preferences and click on the "Input Config" button. Then a dialog pops up showing all available inputs. Bet sure that they are activated.

yes i did all this. the funny thing is that in the channel view normaly i have
a drop down menu where i can select my input (it is like that on my workstation where i have eight ins available). but this drop down menu is missing:)

Hi mepooh,

So you can select "Live In" but the channel menu below is empty?

What do you see when you click on the "Input Config" button in the audio preferences?

i see "ON" highlighted in green and "Analog 1 Sonica Theater/2 Sonica Theater".

look i thought yesterday, there in the view menu is a switch to able/disable in-output view (for the channels). that was disabled (don´t know why). thanx for all who tried to help me!
