maybe dumb UC-33 question!

Hi, im a new user to this forum, but couldn`t find anything on this:

I have assigned a fader on my UC-33 to the pitch control of a loop being played live.

Fun so far, but the fader is VERY sensitive when doing this. Enough that keeping predictable results while playing real-time is next 2 impossible. Full up and down on the fader is I think around +/- 2 octaves or so.

What I am trying to do is to adjust the full range limits in a way that moving the UC-33 fader all the way would only result in say +/- 5 cent on the sample being played. ie: a more accurate control over a narrower pitch range.

what version of Live? you can tweak this in the limits as you assign the midi in 5 and in 4 you can go to the arrange view and change the range in the master channel, bottom right.

this is software to edit the signals sent by the uc33

with this you can edit your uc33 controls easily! just change the range of your fader to a samller amount of midi cc's?

it's much easier in Live though, but yeah that is a solution.

It IS much easier in live, but this cannot be done with all controls right? Editing the midi cc's is not too hard though, and a nice thing to learn. I use this a lot!

Enigma is definetly easier than it use to be. Once you spend an hour or so getting over the hill and understand it, it is a piece of cake. I do changes with enigma in the middle of my sets sometimes. I just always have it running. its a piece of cake once you understand how they designed it (which is pretty poor in most peoples opinion).

Also, if you need help, just get a phone number for the M-audio tech guys. they are usually pretty awsome. they can walk you through what the weak ass manual cant.

thanks for the reply guys, but I still dont get it.
V5 does not allow min & max to be set on the transpose knob for a sample playing.

I`ve also tried out enigma for the first time, but no luck there either. It doesn`t look like it can do much more that assign things. Nothing I cant do with the box itself.

again: I have assigned a UC-33 fader to the transpose knob on live5. I now want full deflection on that fader to correspond to +/- 5 semitones instead of the default +/- 48 semitones.

just calculate the midi cc's you should send to grab the middle +- 5 transpose...and set the as lsb and msb

That is the first thing I tried, but no luck here. Actually I`m not even sure what LSB and MSB does yet; so I could b doing something wrong.
