hi all,
after some help...am being driven nuts this end with a very strange problem. I have being using ableton for over 4 monthes and have had no issues until i started to warp some of my vinyl. I have been using MP3 sourced from CD's and downloads to date, so the recording of the vinyl into Adobe Audition is quite new to me. Anyway haeve recorded around 20 records in audition, saved them as MP3, and then imported them into Ableton. The auto warp has set warp markers, which are a little off, so all i do is line these up to the first beat. If I then start to play the track with other warped tracks it stays in time for a bit, say half the tune and then suddenly goes out of sync. I have tried rewarping track and even deleting and re-recording, and tehn reimporting...but still seem to have the same problem. This is now driving me crazy..any ideas....there seems to be no consistancy either..i haev some tracks that are Ok others that arnt !!! please help
Nick
issues wtih warping : vers5.0.01
turntables aren't going to give you a consistent bpm. you'll have to make more manual adjustments and place more yellow markers.
autowarp isn't really automatic anyway. it's good for identifying original bpm. i find that if you do that then manually set 1.1.1 and then 'warp from here', you can warp any track pretty quickly. longer in the case of vinyl recordings, of course.

the only thing that auto warp is good for is deciding how to warp a track...
if it automatically makes a bunch of warp markers, you have to warp piece by piece with multiple warp markers.
but if it only makes one marker, you only need to place the first marker on one and adjust the tempo.
