ARGH! Many problems with rendering and other things...

Post by zfigz » Fri Oct 28, 2005 1:01 am

Hi, a quick look at my system. A powerbook G4 1.5ghz with a gig of ram and Live 5.01 and 5.02

First problem. I've had constant clicks and hisses when I render and this is when normalize is off. When normalize is one I can barely even hear what is being played.

Another thing....Live keeps forgetting my automation information for a midi track that has Automat. What is happening?!?

I wish I could just fix one or the other. I have a track I want to render, but everytime I do I have pops and clicks. And everytime I save it and open it again, it forgets the automation I recorded. ARGH!!!!!!!!

it might be a bad song file you are saving it to, try "save as" and give it a new name after you put in the automation. just an idea.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

about the rendering prob, there's another thread about this problem.
the current workaround is to create an audio track, set its audio in to "resample", and record it.

about the automation disappearing, what exactly do you mean? when you record the automation, can you see it edited in the arrangement view? (there should be a red square in the track mixer's parameters for each automated parameter).
are you sure the "back to arrangement" button is not red?

I'll try that workaround...

As for the not remembering automation data. It remembers the points where it automates it. For example, let's say I have the LFO On and then Off and then On.

It'll have the point ..Dot.. ..Dot.. ..Dot..

These dots representing the on and off, but they are all flat. In other words off. Get what I mean?

So I record the automation and the points where the automation are remembered when I save and quit, but the actual automation is not remembered. So it remembers that I moved the knob here, but doesn't where exactly where. hope that cleared my problem up.

ABLETON people, please fix my live...live is dead without rendering and automation save.

Hey, with that work around....once i record everything on that one audio track do I just render that particular track?

yeah, i know this is obvious...just making sure though.
