dropouts live5 and pcr-1

hi looking for any advice. live runs fine if im just using laptop and no controller. when i hook up my pcr-1 get droputs every 2-3 mins. have tried v4 and get the same thing happening.

athlon 3000, 512 ram, plenty of hard drive space.
