it's good to see that live isn't just a classical soft used by classical musicians. whatever the music you create, live can help!

I've done a couple experimental trance mixes, but mostly I use Live to record rocked-out Celtic fiddle tunes on mandolin. I'll make a jam track out of a drum loop, heavily effected guitars. some midi bass and an occational Sampler track. Then I blow solos over the top. My mixes are a mess, but I'm still having fun.

I also use Live to slow down songs I'm trying to figure out.

my stuff usually ends up sounding like a slightly more adventurous boards of canada.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Hi FSK

Yup, its live 5 (im sure you can still do it in 4) all the way with no fx, and just one audio track.

Basically just dropped a clip which is warped ok into arrangement view, and went to work using copy, paste, duplicate, and cut using various quantization (set to none for the really glitchy bits)! Just started it off randomly and went from there. I keep doin it randomly and try everything, if it sounds rubbish then CTRL Z (undo) all the way back to when it worked and try something new. Usually i just loop 1 or 2 bars at a time work on them, then move on to the next 2 bars.

Dont get me wrong, it can take hours, but you can get some cool stuff which is done in minutes (just make sure you know your shortcuts CTRL+C.V.X,D,Z,Y)

oops sorry, i used erosion in there for 1 beats worth...... which was a reverse kik, at half the original tempo.
