Mixing question.

Post by Phlexzer » Mon Jul 21, 2003 3:40 am

I have a bunch of finished material that I put together using Live. Is it possible to get a good mix just using Live and a Powerbook G4 and i-tunes? I burned a cd on i-tunes and it just doesn't sound that great in my car, which is understandable. I also have Logic 6 but I just got it so I haven't yet learned how to get the tracks from Live into Logic to mix them. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I'm completely in the dark and don't know where to start with all this mixing shit. If anyone is familiar with this I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Using Logic with Live

Hi,

Use Rewire to send Live's audio into Logic where you do your final mixdown and mastering, and render your output using Logic's digital summing (which is supposed to be better than Live's).

If you can put a song together in Live, you can probably figure out how to use Logic as a "virtual mixing and mastering console" pretty easily in a few hours by studying the manual.

The basic mixing functionality in all these programs is pretty similar and not hard. I don't use Logic so I can't give you the step by step.
