Live 5.0.1 crashes - Live 5.0.2 is worst... it's unusable!

Got Live 4 in April, was such a good software that I bought the upgrade to version 5 with my eyes closed... I was in love

Live 5 integration with the 01x was good until... the audio kept playing and Live 5.0.1 froze to death.
- Remote on 01x stopped responding
- any mouse or keyboard input stopped responding
--> had to kill Live and reboot the computer each time!!!

Upgraded to Live 5.0.2 hoping that the system crashes would be ironed out... it became WORST!!!
After a few minutes Live crashes with sometimes the audio still playing.
- Remote on 01x is not responding
- keyboard and mouse are not responding either (for Live)
--> have to reboot as Live will not respond to process termination commands

At this point I CANNOT use Live anymore., and it's a HUGE problem as I have sessions lined up!

My system is clean and optimized (am an IT professional so I know a little about computers) and Live is the only program that crashes on this machine.

For the Ableton guys here are two examples from the application system log:
- "Hanging application Live 5.0.1.exe, version 1.0.0.1, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000."

-"Hanging application Live 5.0.2.exe, version 1.0.0.1, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000."

I will appreciate your input and advices Abes guys as I want to use this very promising and uber-cool software.

yes this program is really UNSTABLE .

It crashes waaaaaaaaaaaay to often. So i make a few changes, or i'm lucky enough to save a file, then if i attempt to play anything or make any change its most likely to just have a continuous tone generated from the sample or vsti that was being played and will just hog the CPU so any interrupts (like ctrl alt del) are not executed and just starved.

Mind you, it was working fine before the clocks switched back, i deleted the preferences file but after that its just become unusable now.

Anyone have any ideas ?????????????

yes! same thing here...

i had to resort to Live 4, which i've used for a long time, and not IT crahses.. never had live 4 crash until i installed Live 5 !! what is going on ??

any help is much appreciated. i even crashed on 4 during the end of my set last week. luckily it was the END of the set. could have been horrible.

whats going on guys/gals ? why is Live 5 such crap!!! ??

i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here since i love the software, but my god !

you say you never crashed with live4, but you do with live 5, and then that you crashed with live 4. You think live 5 corrupted your live 4 ?
any plugins ?

i would like to ask the abletonians that give all users a serial number which works on version 4!!!!!!!!!!!

i used it with my studiopartner for over a year....with no problems...now upgraded to 5....just problems....now back on 4 and also problems...whats going on??

hey peeps.

so i upgraded to 5.0.2, was at 5.0.1.5.0.1 was HORRIBLE. so i went abck to live 4. then live 4 acted funky, crashing etc. so i upgraded to 5.0.2 and also upgraded my os from Mac OSX 10.5 to 10.9.
so far today i have had NO CRASHES !

amazing. could this be ok for once ?

amaxing thta what was once such a stable app, has gone sour so quick. come on abeltonians, don't let us down. we NEED YOU !!

i'll write back if anything else funky occurs.

and to respond, i have no clue why live 5 would make live 4 act funky. no idea at all here.
