Hi,
I've had an interesting problem with Live on my Toshiba laptop since I've been using it (Version 2.0). What happens is that there's a short drop out every time I restart audio in Live after letting the audio lapse for 30 seconds or more. The drop out happens after about 1-2 seconds of audio then never happens again (unless I let the audio lapse again for 30+ seconds). This happens in both the arranger and session modes.
I'm running Live 4.1.4 on XP with SP2. My sound card is an M-Audio USB-Quattro, but the problem also happens with the internal sound card on the Toshiba. I've applied all the optimization tips at musicxp.net, but nothing seems to have an effect on this issue. My suspicion is that it is caused by some sort of power save function, but I've disabled everything I can under the Toshiba power save control panel.
I haven't posted about this before because In the past I have hacked a solution to this by starting/stopping several times before the audio starts with a blank clip playing, or looping a blank clip, rather than stopping. Currently I am using some new techniques in our performances that make this hack impractical. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks!
