Can time signature be automated?

Post by torchtv » Tue Nov 08, 2005 4:34 pm

E.g. my piece starts in 7/4 and at bar 54 I want to change to 5/4.

TIA

Nope. :(

Live 6 feature, hopefully, for all you Dream Theater fans!

we should get another feature wishlist thread going on this. It can be really limiting on creative flow to not be able to do this.

I completely agree. Time signatures must be able to change.

you could just do the math!

i have a song that goes from 4/4 to 6/8 so i made the 6/8 bits into a 12 bar 4/4 loop.
so then end up on beat 1 of the 13th bar back into 4/4

lots of ways around the no time sig change thing.

mmm, not so easy with his 7/4 and 5/4 sections--I guess you could multiply odd time signatures by two to get 14/8 and 10/8, but it starts to get a bit complimacated and ridiculous. It will be nice when the implement automatable time signature changes.

mix mag did a review of live and the dude said that the lack of this feature was about the only reason not to make it his #1 daw.

one other sweet addition on the DAW tip would be multiple automation envelopes visible at once in arrangerview...join the feature wishlist thread here:
